Another great dining option in Longmont. China Panda is right on Main Street and has long hours. We got there right before closing on Sunday night and got take out. The food was delicious and owner helpful and friendly.
The food was very fresh and has some of the best seasoning we have tasted. The owner mentioned they do a Pad Thai that has a ketchup base. It threw me off so we decided not to order it but I have been obsessed with trying to figure out what it would have teased like. Next time I am in Longmont I will be ordering this for sure.....simply out of curiosity. -

so China panda has been on my S#it list for some time ever since they would send out food even if it was missing an ingredient (they wouldn't even tell you) for example.. my wife LOVES water chestnuts and ordered moo goo gai pan because they put a lot of them in it. well one night we ordered it and it came minus the water chestnuts needless to say she was pissed. tack in the "gas charge" and other various things they have done over the year has left a pretty bad taste in our mouths.
we decided to give them one more chance and my god was that a mistake.
here is how things went.
i call up .. a young man answers. asks me to hold. i say sure...
he comes back on and asks me my phone number.. i give it to him .. he says my address... and then asks me to hold again...
he comes back and asks me what i would like. as i started to place my order he asks me to hold again... he then comes back and asks me for my order.. i tell him.. wonton soup , hot and sour soup and chicken drunken noodle. he repeats the order and leaves out the hot and sour soup.. i repeat the order. he tells me to hold again. comes back and repeats the order incorrect again. i repeat the order for the 3rd time.
wonton soup.. hot and sour soup and chicken drunken noodle. this time he gets it right. asks how im going to pay i say card.. he tells me to hold again.. comes back and gets my card info.
over an hour later the food arrives. sure enough there is hot and sour soup.. wonton soup and drunken noodle. my wife starts to fill her plate and i notice there are veggies in there.. im like. " well i guess we got a bonus cuz i don't remember veggies coming in the chicken drunken noodle. a few minutes later my wife says.. there is no chicken in here.. i go to look and sure enough there is zero chicken
so i call China panda
the same kid answers the phone. i say to him " hello i just ordered a chicken drunken noodle a hot and sour soup and wonton soup and you guys sent us a vegtable drunken noodle"
the kid on the phone says " okay....................." and then silence
i repeat myself and add.. you guys got it wrong.
the kid on the phone again goes... "okay.........................." and then silence again.
at this point im starting to get frustrated from the lack of service and response...
so i ask to talk to someone else.
a woman gets on the phone, i recognize her as the person that usually answers the phone.
i admit at this point im a bit irked on how the kid handled my complaint to i repeat what i said to him but to her.
she then says.. well he said you ordered vegetable drunken noodle(sure it says so in the receipt)
i say to her... i would NEVER order vegetable drunken noodle and the kid took my order down wrong.
she says.. but he said you ordered vegetable..
at this point im getting even more irritated.. very sternly i repeat myself. i would NEVER order vegetable drunken noodle
then the woman gets really defensive and says "stop yelling at me"
which im thinking.. im not yelling im getting frustrated from the lack of customer service.
i said im not yelling at you and told her that when i called the kid just said okay and sat there... and did it twice...
so the woman goes "well thats my son" (like that makes any difference) and i'm thinking i don't care if its the Pop,e get your act together.
and so i said to her that he shouldn't have just sat there on the phone in silence like i was supposed to go away or something
so finally shes like.. fine what do you want.. do you want us to make it over or give you a credit. i said just give me a credit.
i doubt i'll ever use it as im completely finished with this place..
its funny cuz the very first time i ate here.. it was extraordinary but then it literally spiraled down until it was the worst place ive ever had to deal with in Longmont. get your act together China Panda!!! -

One of my favorites! I wish I would've found this place sooner! Food comes out HOT and delicious every time! My boyfriend and I order for pick-up more often than not, and it's always as good as dining in!

For me, this is one of the best Chinese places that Longmont has ever had. The food for me has always been great and made fresh and the staff when they aren't completely understaffed (which seems to happen sometimes) is very attentive.
For the food out of the 10-12 dishes that I have had from here I would say that the majority have been pretty fantastic. They are always well seasoned with strong flavors and served to me hot. The portion sizes are also what we have become accustomed to from most chinese places and can easily serve as an extra or even a third meal. The only real reservations I have for the food of my favorite dishes is with the General Tso chicken which is sometimes just overly sweet. It should be a lot of spice with a hint of sweet, and I feel that its usually just the "sweet & sticky" sauce used for a few things like the sesame chicken that has some chili oil added to it. It can be overly sweet at times if you are not prepared for it.
The staff has always been very polite and accommodating to special requests. Sometimes depending on day of the week or time of day it can feel as they are understaffed and only have a couple people running around to take orders and serve food, so it can be a bit slow, but for the most part the staff is really great and knows their menu OR will easily go ask the kitchen if there is something really abnormal to request or inquire about.
The decor inside is probably my least favorite thing about this place, but it has never been something to affect my desire to eat here. It's an old building and its mixed and woven into what used to be a few other rooms and businesses so there is alternating design styles and pretty old structuring and carpeting throughout. Wooden panels bend and creak as you walk on them and the overall layout is fairly obscure with decor from the mid 80s. It somewhat seems like its slowly being upgraded, but seeing as how good the food is, I can easily overlook the decor and just focus on my meal.
Overall, this is a great chinese restaurant, hidden at the end of Main St, that can accommodate a large or small party. Can get large portions of great food OR have it delivered should you need it. I highly recommend stopping in.
